Kauri encourages leaders of organizations to step into each other's shoes (case on principle 7)

A "Job Switch Day" is an activity performed to highlight the potential of working together on sustainability.  The concept is simple - two influential persons from the same sector, but with a different background, exchange a day of work. During the Kauri Job Switch Day, the CEO of a company exercises the job of the director of an NGO and vice versa. In the movie at the end of this article, you'll see Lily Deforce, Director of Max Havelaar exchanging jobs with Dirk Van Den Berghe, ceo of Delhaize.
The Collaborative Advantage
The purpose of a Job Switch Day is to contribute to a qualitative interaction between two stakeholders. The exchange shows both parties that they can learn by knowing each other's work on a deeper level. They are inspired to consider a sustainability problem from a different angle.

The outcome
Job switchers learn to understand the internal functioning of their organization better and have more appreciation for each position. Afterwards, they share each other's experiences and can determine possible common goals around which they could further collaborate.
